Without Electricity... Can You Live Like It's 1880!?
THE MOST SERIOUS THREAT WE FACE IS...
The Power Grid being hacked/disabled if at war.
“If the grid went down for a long enough time…
90 percent of the U.S. population would die from starvation, lack of water, and social disruption. We are talking about total devastation.”
-- Ambassador Henry Cooper, Former Director of U.S. Strategic Defense
Covering Backyard Projects related to Food Gardening, Self-Sustainability, Homesteading, and Energy Generation. Investigating leading-edge science, new and new-old ways of thinking about nature, health, farming - including a focus on soil regeneration using no-till farming and permaculture methods. Getting the best out of ourselves and our production by discovering how God designed things to work. Exploring whole body and whole environmental systems and cycles. Regenerative and Permaculture Methods are used on a variety of scales: from the backyard, to 1, 5, 50, 120 acres, to full sizes farms and ranches.
RESIDENTIAL FOOD GARDENS are know by many names: Kitchen Gardens, Backyard Gardens, Vegetable Gardens, and during World War 2 as Victory Gardens.

HOMESTEADING (backyard garden/farm to a full family farm/ranch) [ wikipedia ]
Homesteading is a lifestyle of self-sufficiency. It is characterized by subsistence agriculture, home preservation of food, and may also involve the small scale production of textiles, clothing, and craft work. Modern homesteaders often use renewable energy options including solar and wind power. Many also choose to plant and grow heirloom vegetables and to raise heritage livestock. Homesteading is not defined by where someone lives, such as the city or the country, but by the lifestyle choices they make.
OUR PRIMARY MISSION is to alert Americans and others in the Free World of serious threats to their personal individual survival, to help them to understand those threats, and to encourage them to prepare. Not a Prepper Yet? You should be. Check out Prepping Basics.
It doesn't matter your politics, faith, culture, group - we are concerned about helping all Americans learn how to prepare in order to live, survive upcoming war threats to America that will have a direct impact on our daily lives.
We wish you all the very best of a healthy, fulfilling, and prosperous life surrounded by the love of family, friends, neighbors, and God. And as a proper nerd would say, may you "Live Long and Prosper." - Citizen Dave

The Backyard Project Community Concept
Seeing the need to help more people become self-sufficient, the concept for a Backyard Projects Community began as a way to network people in local communities and regions, building Backyard Communities of Learning, Experimenting, and Expertise Sharing.
Something Big, Something Small, Something Big
The idea will only be as big or small based upon its actual impact on people's lives. It can be small to an area, but still big to those it impacts. It can also be big and expand to building more communities. This, at its heart, is an idea, a concept, and locally it is one community of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. There is no 'copyright' or 'patient' on building communities. Feel free to do your own thing with or without us - since this is all about helping people DIY: Do It Yourself. America is Waking Up to the need to become more self-sufficient. We hope to help grow the movement where we can, in ways that we can.
"America is quickly entering a time of war and great struggle.
Many will die, all will suffer. It's important to save as many as possible
by helping wake them up to the challenges and
convincing them to save themselves by preparing."
- Citizen Dave, Project Manager
DAVE ROGERS
Learn, Do, Grow, Build, Share, Teach, Repeat.
Citizen Dave (Dave Rogers) lives on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, so the first focus of community building is there, but the idea can work anywhere - as it is just basic community building with people who share a common situation and purpose.
Dave works with a small group of conservative Christians, Patriots, and Preppers mostly in the 'The South' (southern United States). Some have backgrounds in academia, some in technology, history, law, politics, and some are just regular folks. To one extent or another, we all live an active lifestyle in preparedness, gardening, self-reliance, homesteading, the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping and such. Some of us grew up this way, others have done this for decades, and the rest are newer but with enough years that give us all enough valuable and practical experience, we feel, to make a significant contribution to society.
Dave grew up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast fishing, farming, raising chickens, working on cars, homes - in carpentry, electrical - took 3 years of shop classes. He learned from a boy about entrepreneurship, farming, self-sufficiency, common country sense, and how to get things done.
Today, Dave is retired and spends his time serving the community and God. Dave is an explorer, researcher, analyst, writer, and blogger. He's known by many to be a 'Brain,' being gifted in Internet Research, quickly absorbing vast amounts of information, discerning-sorting-evaluating it, organizing it, summarizing it, and teaching and writing about it. Dave has a 'renaissance man' type style of general knowledge in many fields.
As a boy, he did house electrical work, farmed, worked on cars, sold newspapers, and had a bike repair shop for the neighborhood kids out of the family garage. His brothers and dad all had car projects of their own. He learned about fixing cars through helping them when he was young, and later in life he repaired his own. Self sufficiency, fixing things when they broke, and figuring things out were a part of the standard way of living in his family.
Dave grew up Southern Baptist in the Deep South Bible Belt of the Mississippi Gulf Coast where Church, Country-living, respect for all people, the beach and coastal breezes were in his blood. Where the concept of 'making a difference' or 'making your mark' in the world was more about serving others and reaching them with the Truth of God's Salvation and the American way of life. Just as Jesus (Y'shua) states, all the laws of God can be summarized into two points: Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind and Love Your Neighbor as Yourself (as you would want to be treated). This being the central purpose of the Bible: to show us the way to live in right relationship with God and our fellow man.
Instead of Boy Scouts, Southern Baptist have "Royal Ambassadors" for boys - which did much of the same, Dave said. "But it taught a much more in-depth foundation from the Bible of how to be a good citizen, good Christian, and strong Godly man of honor." The Motto comes from 2nd Corinthians 5:20 - 'I am an Ambassador of Christ.'" Dave says he still remembers the Royal Ambassador Pledge by heart today, and still considers himself a Royal Ambassador for Christ. Without referencing anything he quoted it: "As a Royal Ambassador, I will do my best to become a well informed, responsible follower of Christ. To have a Christ-like concern for all people. To learn how the message of Christ is carried around the world. To work with others in sharing Christ. And to keep myself clean and healthy in mind and body."
